What is the Purpose?
That is what I am pondering right now. Why are we having this struggle. I know there is some reason, but for an impatient high strung personality like I have, it is really hard to deal with. I spoke with ANA's attorney of Friday and after three meetings in three days with IBESR officials, they are still reluctant to sign us out. They are playing the " We don't understand why couples as young as you with three biological children want to adopt." Apparently there are still issues with Parquet as they claim they still are afraid of what will happen if our case gets signed out and passed along to that step. They told the attorney maybe when the new law gets passed we will be closer to the guidelines and it will be time to sign. How can they say they care about the children when willing parents are waiting. Their age requirement is 35 or over and they sign other cases that are over 30 but under 35. If they fudge that far why is 28 so much different? Why is 30 such a magic number? Now the attorney doesn't even know what to do, so we get to try and find contacts on our own. I swear this process is going to take 10 years off my life. This is the single most frustrating thing I have ever done and it feels like we are no closer to the end that when we begun. What a day!

I'm so sorry. I'm praying for you and for the hearts of those looking at your kids' files to be changed.
You continue to be in our prayers. I hope you have some positive news VERY soon!!! ~Melissa
hang in there. You will get your children. It may take a while, but you will. I have friends who I don't believe are 30 yet, and should be home within the week with their children. They have been in the process well over 2 years. I can understand your frustration, because my husband and I are trying to adopt, and have gotten the whole your not 35 story too. We are over 30, and still get that statement...God is bigger than any of this! know that!
Hey Chad,
We are still waiting because of family size. (Since March 07) I completely feel your pain. There have been other larger families signed out, but not us. Praying its soon for both your family and mine.
We just want our kids home!
Blessings,
Sarah
Kickin' the ball.....kickin the ball.......KICKIN' THE FREAKIN' BALL!!!!!!
I somehow just came across your blog...not sure if you still are checking comments, but I am so sad for you that you have been in IBESR so long. Your kids need to be with you!! Who cares that you are a few years "too young!"? You are right...how can they reason with keeping them in an orphanage when a loving family waits, and when there are so many others that wait and wait to go into orphanages, esp. with the recent hurricanes? I am single, age 31, adopting from Haiti also. I just entered IBESR, and do not know what they will say about my file...at one time I was warned not to proceed b/c of my young age, but then told it was okay..I just decided to take a leap of faith...what a long journey. Praying for your family..Email me if you want..you can find my address on my profile, and I'll invite you to my blog if you're interested.
